Wooden Orangeries were originally a sign of opulence and wealth when first introduced to the UK to help grow fruit trees, around the 17th century. Nowadays the modern wooden orangery is usually used as an extension of living space, the glazing of the windows and lantern roof along with the timber mouldings giving a special ambiance that really separates a wooden Orangery extension from normal rooms and gives an amazing wow factor.
A wooden orangery extension should be designed to complement and harmonise with your property. Our experienced designers will help guide you through the design process so the end result is a room that looks stunning but is also practical to use all year round.
Those looking for a larger kitchen will find a well designed kitchen wooden orangery as the perfect solution. A light filled room that acts as a multifunctional space incorporating a kitchen, living & dining area which often becomes the social hub of the house. A wooden orangery not only creates this with a spectacular room but it also serves as a connection to the outdoor areas for entertainment purposes too.
All of our wooden orangeries are manufactured from high quality timbers including select hardwood and accoya. The wood is specifically selected for its properties where it is best suited; this might mean using a different timber to manufacture the wooden doors than that of the moulded corner posts. As all species of timbers are natural products that act in their own way, it is too simplistic to say that “we manufacture hardwood orangeries” and use the same timber for all components. At Midland Conservatories we use all of our 30 years experience manufacturing Wooden Orangeries to select the best timber for each specific application, we explain this to all our customers so they can make the best informed decision on their purchase.
Having been established in the industry for over 20 years, Midland Conservatories takes pride in its reputation for designing and producing finest quality timber Conservatories, Orangeries, Windows and Doors.request a free quotation
Often our customers ask us to incorporate bi-folding doors to their wooden Orangery which allow the room to be opened up to the garden, giving a lovely entertaining space or a peaceful relaxing room with fresh air. We always reccomend accoya bi-fold doors where possible as they will give seemless functionality all year round.
Timber is the perfect material to make the most beautiful wooden Orangeries. Others try to imitate the natural beauty of wood, but with materials such as UPVC and aluminium it isn’t possible to recreate the same highly detailed shaped moulds and often the structures are left looking cumbersome.
We offer a full design and installation service for our timber orangeries but also as a trade supplier we can supply as much or as little of the Orangery as you require.
