Accoya
We are approved by Accsys Technologies to use Accoya in the manufacturing of our products and have extensive experience in doing so. We are regularly commissioned to produce projects completely out of Accoya and will also use Accoya for certain components in our Conservatories, Orangeries and Windows & Doors. Components that most benefit from being made from Accoya.
Accoya wood is the result of decades of research and development that has brought together a long-established, extensively proven wood modification technique and leading-edge patented technology – "acetylation" to create a high performance wood, ideal for outdoor use and challenging applications.
Accoya wood is our material of choice for door sashes. Not only does it have extremely low thermal conductivity but it is more durable and dimensionally stable than the best tropical hardwoods. It can be opaque coated or, for those wishing to enjoy the natural look of wood, transparent coated. Accoya’s low maintenance requirements add to its cost effectiveness and environmental credentials.
Exterior doors made with Accoya will be be durable, dimensionally stable (to prevent doors becoming difficult to open and close in bad weather) and easy to maintain. It is this reason that (where possible) we use accoya wood as standard for all of our door sashes. Accoya is a top end product and both the installer and end user will benefit from doors being manufactured using it.
